Dawid Szurgacz graduated in 2009 from the Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Mining Geology, Gliwice, Poland, with a specialization in mining, construction, and road machinery. In 2013, he became a doctor of technical sciences in the discipline of mining and engineering geology, earned from The Central Mining Institute, Katowice, Poland. The title of his doctoral thesis is "Modified method of selection of powered roof supports for operation in hazardous conditions of mining tremors". His primary workplace is Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A. KWK ROW Ruch Chwałowice. Since 2016, he has been the Manager of Research and Development Projects at DOH Hydraulics Center. Since 2018, he has also been a lecturer at Wrocław University of Technology, Faculty of Mining Engineering and Geology. His research interests are in machine and equipment development.
