Posdoctoral research 2013–2019: Biomedical and Pharmacological Joint Research Unit–FISABIO (Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, OH, USA, 6 months). She is now Senior researcher (Miguel Servet contract, ISCIII) in the Endocrinology Service of the University Hospital Dr. Peset-FISABIO. Her main research line interest include the evaluation of mitochondrial dysfunction and endoplasmic reticulum stress in situations of insulin resistance, the relationship between these mechanisms and metabolic alterations and inflammation, and the possible role of specific biomarkers in the development of these complications. She is guest editor of the Int. J. Mol. Sci. Special issue "DNA damage and repair in degenerative diseases”.
