Mihaela-Ligia UNGUREŞAN was born in Gilǎu, Cluj, Romania, in 1972. She received B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry-physics from the Babes-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca, Cluj, Romania (in 1995 and in 1996) and a Ph.D. in chemical kinetics in 2006. Since 1998, she has been a member of staff in the Physics and Chemistry Department, Faculty of Environmental and Materials Engineering, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (from 2008 she has been an Associate Professor). Her main research interests are: chemical kinetics of rapid reactions, isotopic exchange reactions, modeling and simulation of physical chemical processes, the synthesis of chemical compound marked with stable isotopes, etc. She has published more than 150 papers in journals or communications at international conferences, she is the main author or coauthor of 18 technical books and she has partipated in 30 research contracts as manager or member of research teams. She has received "Best Paper" awards at four international conferences.
