Alexander O.Chizhov was born in 1961. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Moscow State University in 1983. From 1985 to now he has been a researcher in N.D.Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, Russian Academy of Sciences. He completed his Ph.D. thesis in 1994. He occupies a position of Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Structural Studies. In 1997–1998, he was an academic visitor in Imperial College (London, UK, Prof. Anne Dell lab), and in 1999–2001, a research associate in the Department of Chemistry, University of Virginia (Charlottesville, USA). Fields of interests: structural and synthetic carbohydrate chemistry, organic mass spectrometry and related subjects.
