Kit Yan Chan has been a Senior Lecturer at Curtin University, Australia since 2013. His expertise spans several AI technologies, such as deep learning, neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, and swarm intelligence. Application areas include new product development, traffic flow forecasting, manufacturing process design, etc. He is currently investigating AI methods including deep learning and evolutionary computation for green power system design and power demand forecasting. He has published 123 international journal papers, and his work has attracted 5071 citations. He was the special session chair for the IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, 2022. He was the main guest editor and has successfully completed nine special issues in the following journals: IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Journal of Engineering Design, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, Applied Soft Computing, Neurocomputing, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Research. He is acting as an Associate Editor/editorial board for several journals, such as the Journal of Engineering Design, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, and Sensors.
