She earned her MD from Ghent University (Belgium) and completed a postgraduate degree in Tropical Medicine and International Health at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (Belgium). She subsequently specialized in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Clinical University Hospital of Valencia, and obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Management from the University of Valencia (Spain). She holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Oviedo (Spain). She is currently working in the Coordination of the Health Information Section within the Directorate of Public Health of the Regional Ministry of Health of Asturias (Spain), where she is involved in epidemiological surveillance, as well as in the management and development of the Cancer Registry and Mortality Registry.
