Ping Liu is an Assoc. Prof. and Supervisor at the College of Water Resources Science and Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT). She is a Councilor of the Shanxi Institute of Communications, an Expert Committee member of the Shanxi Technical Standard Innovation Base (Beidou IT), and a member of the Int. Society for Digital Earth and the Shanxi Hydraulic Engineering Society. She holds a PhD from TYUT and was a Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua University (2025), BNU (2020), and ITC-UT, Netherlands (2015). Her research focuses on ecohydrology and geospatial intelligence in water resources, specifically RS-based ecohydrological/evapotranspiration and lightweight intelligent models. She explores hydro-climatic responses and water conservancy geospatial intelligence, establishing watershed ecological big data indicator systems and integrating models for water ecology, resources, environment, engineering, and risks to develop ecological protection platforms. She has led/participated in 14 national/provincial and 20+ horizontal projects. She published 40+ papers in journals like Journal of Hydrology and CCF-A conferences, holds 10 patents, and developed one industry standard. She authored a "12th Five-Year Plan" bilingual textbook and a monograph Study. Her awards include the Special Prize of the Shanxi Teaching Achievement and the Second Prize of the National Water Resources Teaching Achievement. She has supervised 70+ award-winning entries in the National GIS Competition.
