Giuseppe Mele is currently a professor of Chemistry and Science and is responsible for the Laboratory of Chemistry for Technology at the Department of Engineering for Innovation of the University of Salento. His main research interests include catalysis and photocatalysis, green chemistry, and the synthesis and characterisation of organic and/or metal-organic compounds as precursors of new hybrids and functional materials. He carries out many research activities in the framework of international European and extra-European cooperation. He is the author of more than 170 scientific papers (Scopus) and more than 100 presentations in conferences and seminars (national/international). His H-index is 47 (Google Scholar), with a number of citations > 8450 (Google Scholar).
