Prof. Dr. Carmine Giuseppe Fanelli is an Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Perugia and has an agreement as 1st level Medical Director with the Perugia Hospital. He began his research activity in the sector of endocrine and metabolic diseases and related complications in 1988. He served as a "Research Fellow" at the Division of Endocrinology of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, USA, from 1994 to 1997. His fields of scientific interest and research are mainly metabolic diseases, in particular diabetes, insulin resistance, and hypoglycemia. He is currently a Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism in various degree courses at the University of Perugia. (Medicine and Surgery, Sports Sciences and Techniques Preventive and Adapted Physical Activities, and Food and Human Nutrition Sciences). At the same University, he is the Director of the School of Specialization in Food Science and the Director of the University Center for Interdepartmental Research on Physical Activity (C.U.R.I.A.Mo).
