Dr. Aljaž Drnovšek is a physicist with a PhD in Materials Science. He obtained his PhD at Jožef Stefan International postgraduate school in 2017. His main topic was the tribology of PVD hard coatings with an emphasis on the influence of the growth defects and the surrounding atmosphere. From February 2017 to Jan 2018, he worked as a postdoc researcher at the Montanuniversitӓt Leoben where he worked on the high-temperature mechanical testing of CrAlN and CrAlSiN PVD hard coatings. He has excellent experiences in nanotechnology, tribology, thin film deposition and characterization, focus ion beam microscopy and different scanning probes microscopy.
