Dr Bianchi obtained his PhD in cellular and molecular biochemistry from the University of Nancy I in 2002, supervised by M. Dauça and P. Becuwe. During his PhD, he studied oxidative stress (ROS and Enzymes as SOD or MT), PPAR receptors and MAPK/NFkb/AP1 signalling pathways. He was recruited as an engineer (IE1) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nancy in 2001. In 2004, he was appointed research engineer (now IR1) at the CNRS. He has studied the molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for the phenotypic changes in chondrocytes caused by perturbations in the balance between pyrophosphate and phosphate ions for more than a decade. In 2013 he obtained the "Habilitation à diriger des recherches" and is now the co-head of the "Molecular regulation of pathological mineralization" group. He has 52 publications in refereed journals.
