Dr. Rosa Purgatorio graduated with a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Bari Aldo Moro in 2008. She was awarded a Pharmacist License in 2009. In 2011, she obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Bari Aldo Moro. From January 2012 to June 2015, she worked as a Postdoc Research Scientist at the TAUB Institute, Columbia University. During her post-doc position, she designed, synthesized, and evaluated histone acetyl-transferase (HAT) activators. The use of HAT activators is a novel epigenetic approach for treating neurodegenerative disorders. Currently, she is collaborating with the University of Bari Aldo Moro as a contract researcher to analyze the stability and the quality of different pharmaceutical formulations via the HPLC, UV and GC methods.
