Victor Hugo Hidalgo Diaz received his Doctor of Science in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics (PhD) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2016, his Master of Science in Fluid Mechanics from China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, China in 2012 and his Mechanical Engineering Bachelor from Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador in 2008. He worked as a Research Assistant at Tsinghua University (2013-2016). In 2016, he moved to Escuela Politécnica Nacional and was promoted to Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the same year. His research topics mainly include: Internal combustion, Automotive systems simulation, Advanced simulation, Numerical analysis, Continuum mechanics, Structural and energy analysis of pipelines, Hydraulic and thermal machinery, Advanced hydrodynamics, Pipeline hydrodynamics.
