Prof. Junfang Wu is Director of the Anesthesiology Center for Neuroscience Research and Associate Director at the University of Maryland, Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND). She received a BM in Clinical Medicine and an MS in Pharmacology from Jiangxi Medical School, China, in 1986 and 1992, and completed her PhD in Neuropharmacology at Nanjing Medical School, China, in 1995. Prof. Wu’s postdoctoral training took place at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China, and she completed training at NIH in 2005. Prof. Wu’s research is focused on examining secondary injury processes following traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) and pharmacological/gene therapeutic interventions for SCI. She is also a member of the Center for Shock, Trauma, and Anesthesiology Research (STAR).
