Professor Frank J Gunn-Moore is Professor in the School of Biology at the University of St Andrews, where his research focuses on neuronal function, neurodegeneration and the cellular mechanisms underlying diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. He studied Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh and completed a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Bristol. Since establishing his research group at St Andrews in 2000, he has led interdisciplinary work spanning biology, chemistry and physics, with contributions to Alzheimer’s disease models, therapeutic targets and optical technologies for neuronal cell research.
