Dr Tatevik Chalyan (07-01-1990) is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). She obtained her Master’s degree in Physics from the Yerevan State University, Armenia in 2012 and the degree of European Doctorate in Physics from the University of Trento, Italy in July 2018. Within the European Project SYMPHONY (Integrated SYsteM based on PHOtonic Microresonators and Microfluidic Components for rapid detectioN of toxins in milk and dairY products), she focused on developing an optical biosensor based on Integrated Silicon Photonics for rapid and precise detection of Aflatoxin M1 in milk and dairy products. Currently, her research is focused on the development of optical detection techniques for cell viability studies, as well as opto- and micro- fluidic design and validation.
