Masamitsu Yamaguchi received his BS and MS degrees from Kobe University in 1977 and 1979, respectively, and his PhD in medical science from Osaka University, Japan, in 1983. From 1983 to 1985, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Biological Chemistry at Harvard Medical School. In 2001, he was a Senior Researcher and later Section Head in Aichi Cancer Center Research Institute. Since 2001, he has been a Professor at the Department of Applied Biology and Insect Biomedical Research Center Kyoto Institute of Technology. He is a Director of the technical division at Kankyo Eisei Yakuhin Co. Ltd. and an Honorary Professor at Hanoi Medical University. He is serving as an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology and the American Journal of Cancer Research. He has 268 publications with 7046 citations and an h-index of 42 (Scopus, 12 December 2023).
