Dr. Hariklia N. Gavala is an associate professor at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. Her expertise lies in the field of bioprocess engineering and her current research focuses on harnessing the potential of mixed microbial consortia by optimizing the selection and enrichment process as well as the fermentation operating strategy toward the development of innovative and cost-efficient processes for the production of chemicals, materials, and biofuels. She holds a PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece.
