Prof. Ing. Jan Krmela, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. in Transport Means and Infrastructure in 2004 at the Jan Perner Transport Faculty at the University of Pardubice, CZ. He habilitated (assoc. prof.) in Transport Means and Infrastructure at the same university in 2010. He inaugurated in Materials at the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín and in April 2023 the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová appointed him a Professor. He has authored or co-authored over 338 publications in the following research areas: composites, polymers, tires, experiments, computational modelling of composites and tires with FEM ANSYS software, construction of cars, determination of material parameters, 3D print by FFF, design of methods with the design of test specimen, tire pressure footprint analyses and prediction of tire radial stiffness, etc. In 2006, he received a special award for science and research activities by the Rector of the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem, CZ. In 2020, he received the award for the development and support of science, research, and education by the Rector of the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, SK.
