I am a marine biologist with broad interests in benthic ecology and diversity patterns. My focus is the ecology of meiofauna with emphasis on free-living nematodes; for this taxon, I am also interested in systematics using DNA and morphology. Another interest is the historical reconstruction of marine environments using foraminifera and mollusks as biological proxies in sediments. I have > 20 years teaching several subjects at graduate and postgraduate levels at Universities of Havana and UNAM.
