Dr. Magdalena Plotka is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology, the Faculty of Biology at the University of Gdansk, Poland. Magda Plotka’s work focuses on engineered lysins and she has made significant contributions to the study of a variety of lytic enzymes/proteins or antimicrobial peptides and the optimisations of their application and use. Dr. Plotka's scientific interests also focus on the study of the spread of antibiotic resistance among clinical bacterial strains through horizontal gene transfer, e.g., conjugation.
