Prof. Dr. Feng Zhou is a Full Professor at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He gained a Ph.D. in 2004 and then spent three years (2005–2008) working in the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, as a Research Associate. In 2018, he was appointed Director of the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS. In the same year, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS. In 2022, he was appointed Director of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences Chairman, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. His research interests include the surfaces/interfaces of soft matter, functional coatings with extreme wetting and tunable adhesion, engineering coatings for oil seal, drag-reduction and antibiofouling, and biolubrication. He has published over 600 papers in journals such as PNAS, Matter, Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., and JACS, with more than 20,000 citations.
