Nguyen Hong Nguyen is an academic researcher from the University of the Sunshine Coast. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. He is teaching and coordinating Genetics and Advanced Genetics courses at USC and is a Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellow. His research in aquaculture genetics has been internationally recognized and classified at a Distinctive Competency level by SciVal. He is an Associate Editor of five international journals: Frontiers in Genetics, Frontiers in Veterinary Science, BMC Genetics, Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, Asian Fishery Science Journal, and International Sci. He is also a regular reviewer for 30 journals in the field, including Nature Reviews Genetics. He has 99 publications with 2476 citations and an h-index of 30 (Scopus, 6 December 2023). His research interests include quantitative genetics, genomics, selective breeding, genetic improvement, etc.
