Ella Haddad is currently a retired Professor Emeritus at the School of Public Health, Loma Linda University. Prior to that, she has been a long-time professor, researcher, and administrator in the Department of Nutrition. Her research interests have focused on the adequacy of vegetarian diets and the beneficial effects of plant foods. In addition to her many teaching and administrative responsibilities, Dr Haddad was the resident nutritional biochemist for the department. She has been instrumental in conducting the laboratory research for many of the department’s feeding trials, and training students in biochemical analysis techniques. Dr Haddad is a member and has served in many associations and committees including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the American Public Health Association, the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior, and the Inland District Dietetic Association where she served as the chair of the legislative committee for many years.
