Arnaud Laillou is the Regional Nutrition Specialist at UNICEF, WCARO. He is a PhD in Human Nutrition and Health from the University of Montpellier, France (2010 - 2013). Over his 22 years of experience in nutrition, Arnaud Laillou has tried to improve the access for most vulnerable populations to better nutrition in developing countries. Earlier he was the Nutrition manager at UNICEF, Ethiopia (2019-2021) and Nutrition specialist at UNICEF, Cambodia (2013-2018) where he supported the government and sub-national stakeholders on interventions to prevent all forms of malnutrition and develop and implement several nutrition programs, and private sectors to engage in a food system approach to improve diet diversity. Prior to joining UNICEF, he held several expert positions in developing countries. From 2007 to 2013, he was employed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) supporting the development and the implementation of programs towards large scale food fortification in over 30 countries. Before, he served as a Program Officer in Vietnam and Madagascar for GRET (a French NGO) where he worked at reducing children malnutrition through production of complementary foods in partnership with local entrepreneurs. He spent two years in South East Asia as a Research Officer for the Institute of Research and Development to support development of evaluation tools that are still used by the National Institute of Nutrition in Vietnam for their national food consumption surveys.
