Iolanda de Fátima Lopes Calvo Tibério graduated in medicine from the University of São Paulo (1988) and earned a PhD in pathology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1996). She has served as a lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at HCFMUSP, as of December 2006. She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo and is head of the Laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics I - LIM20 HCFMUSP. She has experience in medicine, with emphasis on internal medicine and the physiology of organs and systems, working mainly in the following specialties: medical education, experimental models, chronic allergic lung inflammation, airways, alveolar septa, inflammatory mediators, nitric oxide, leukotrienes, oxidative stress, and peptides derived from plants.
