Professor Dr. Khalil Valizadeh Kamran is the Head of the Remote Sensing and GIS Department at the University of Tabriz, where he serves as a Full Professor. Renowned for his expertise in land use and land cover classification, image processing, thermal remote sensing, and the application of remote sensing and GIS to climatology and geohazard monitoring, he has made significant contributions to the field through both research and academic leadership. Prof. Valizadeh Kamran has been recognized as an Outstanding Professor at the University of Tabriz in 2024 and was named Best Researcher of East Azerbaijan state in 2022. He has also been selected for international and scientific cooperation at the University of Tabriz and has been acknowledged multiple times as a top researcher in the university’s engineering faculties (2024, 2020, 2016).
