Research Activity and Interests Dr. Bogdan Petruț’s research activity is centered on urological oncology and advanced minimally invasive surgery, with a strong translational and clinical orientation. His main scientific interests include laparoscopic and robotic surgery for urological malignancies (prostate, bladder, and renal cancer), with particular emphasis on optimizing oncological outcomes, functional results, and surgical safety. A significant component of his research focuses on biomarkers and molecular biology in urologic cancers, especially the role of microRNAs, non-coding RNAs, exosomes, and angiogenesis-related factors in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response. He has contributed extensively to understanding molecular mechanisms in prostate and bladder cancer, bridging basic science with clinical applicability. Dr. Petruț is also actively involved in research on image-guided surgery and advanced imaging techniques, including multiparametric MRI, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, indocyanine green fluorescence, and 3D visualization systems, aiming to improve tumor localization, surgical precision, and intraoperative decision-making. Additional research interests include surgical innovation and technology development, reflected in patent applications for novel urological devices, as well as human factors in surgery, such as mental fatigue and performance of surgical teams. He has participated in large international multicenter studies under the auspices
