Purpose: A crucial question still remains unanswered as to whether data analytics-oriented business intelligence (hereafter, BI) technologies can bring organizational value and benefits. Thereby, several researchers called for further empirical research to extend the limited knowledge in this critical area. In an attempt to deal with this issue, we presented and tested a theoretical model to assess BI effectiveness at the organizational benefits level in this research article.Design/methodology/approach: The suggested research model expands the application of the DeLone and McLean model in BI technology success or effectiveness research from individual level to organizational level. A cross-sectional survey is developed to obtain primary quantitative data from business and technology managers who are depending on BI technologies to make operational, technical and strategic decisions in Jordanian-listed firms.Findings: Empirical findings show that system quality, information quality and training quality are significant predictors of user satisfaction, but not of perceived benefit. Data quality was found to be a strong predictor of both perceived benefit and user satisfaction. The influence of perceived benefit on user satisfaction was significant in turn both factors positively affect organizational benefits.Originality/value: This research paper is a pioneering effort to assess BI technology effectiveness at an organizational level outside the context of developed countries. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no prior research has combined all dimensions used in this research in one single model.

Purpose: In today's constantly changing workplace, leaders encounter new challenges consequent to rising digitization. Tackling these problems effectively requires digital leadership, a prominent idea in discussions about what abilities the managers need to be developed in the digital age. The study analyses the leadership elements needed and determines the impact of digital leadership on sustainable performance. The aim of this systematic literature review (SLR) is to identify the relationship between digital leadership concepts and leadership development by proposing digital leadership for management development to ensure sustainable performance in an organisation.Design/methodology/approach: ROSES (RepOrting Standards for Systematics Evidence Syntheses) was used as the publication standard for this systematic literature review, which incorporated a variety of research approaches. For this study's article selection, one of the most important scientific databases, Scopus, was used. Only articles published between 2001 and 2021 were reviewed. The focus of the article was on digital leadership and performance.Findings: This review identified five main themes: leadership styles, measurements of leadership, antecedents to good leadership, outcomes of good leadership and gaps in current research areas. An additional ten sub-themes were derived from the five primary topics.Originality/value: This paper systematically reviewed two decades of literature related to digital leadership and its impact on sustainable performance. The findings allow leaders to better understand the leadership trend and develop appropriate leadership practices to overcome future challenges for sustainable performance.
Purpose: Despite the increasing role of the data warehouse as a supportive decision-making tool in today's business world, academic research for measuring its effectiveness has been lacking. This paucity of academic interest stimulated us to evaluate data warehousing effectiveness in the organizational context of Jordanian banks.Design/methodology/approach: This paper develops a theoretical model specific to the data warehouse system domain that builds on the DeLone and McLean model. The model is empirically tested by means of structural equation modelling applying the partial least squares approach and using data collected in a survey questionnaire from 127 respondents at Jordanian banks.Findings: Empirical data analysis supported that data quality, system quality, user satisfaction, individual benefits and organizational benefits have made strong contributions to data warehousing effectiveness in our organizational data context.Practical implications: The results provide a better understanding of the data warehouse effectiveness and its importance in enabling the Jordanian banks to be competitive.Originality/value: This study is indeed one of the first empirical attempts to measure data warehouse system effectiveness and the first of its kind in an emerging country such as Jordan.

Purpose: This study aims to examine how virtual influencers (VIs) affect purchase intentions in tourism and hospitality e-commerce live streaming (THCLS) by focusing on the roles of VIs’ source credibility, trust in products, trust in VIs, emotional engagement, parasocial relationships and influencer–product congruence. Design/methodology/approach: Survey data from 416 active viewers of VIs in THCLS were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling. Findings: This study highlights the importance of the VIs’ source credibility, which positively affects trust in the product, trust in VIs and emotional engagement. However, source credibility does not have a positive impact on parasocial relationships. Trust in products positively influences trust in VIs. Emotional engagement and trust in VIs significantly influence parasocial relationships, which, positively affects purchase intentions. Influencer–product congruence strengthens the link between parasocial relationships and purchase intentions but does not moderate the relationship between trust in VIs and purchase intentions. No significant gender differences were observed, although minor discrepancies were noted in the effect of trust in products on trust in VIs. The importance–performance map analysis revealed that parasocial relationships are the most important factor influencing purchase intentions, while influencer–product congruence has the highest performance, trust in products is the least important and VIs’ source credibility has the lowest performance. Practical implications: This study provides actionable insights for marketers leveraging VIs in the THCLS sector, emphasizing strategies to enhance VI credibility, foster parasocial relationships, ensure influencer–product congruence and adopt gender-neutral marketing approaches to effectively influence purchase intentions. Originality/value: This study offers theoretical and practical insights into the role of VIs in THCLS, illuminating their impact on consumer behaviour and purchase intentions.
