Dr. Alfredo Caturano graduated in medicine and surgery from the Second University of Naples (SUN) in 2016. He achieved his specialization degree in internal medicine in 2021 at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. His specialization thesis, concerning the impact of glycemic control on cardiovascular outcomes and mortality in a cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in a multifactorial randomized controlled trial, was awarded the Annapaola Braggio prize by the Italian Society of Diabetology as the best specialization thesis on topics related to insulin resistance discussed in 2021 in Italy. Dr. Alfredo Caturano presently serves as a Ph.D. attendant at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and has been supported by multiple grants from both Italian and European scientific societies.
