Dr. Hannes Neuwirt

Hannes Neuwirt is an Associate Professor of Nephrology at Innsbruck Medical University (MUI). He completed his studies in Medicine (MD) and Studies in Molecular Cell Biology (PhD) at the MUI and recently received his MME from the University of Bern (Switzerland). Currently, he is the Deputy Clinical Director of the Dept. of Internal Medicine IV and programme director of the MD-program (clinical semesters 7-12) at MUI. Hannes Neuwirt serves as a reviewer for several journals such as “Nephron Clinical Practice”, “Clinical Cancer Research”, “Molecular Cancer Therapeutics”, "Transplantation" etc. Furthermore, he has been awarded various prizes including  the Thesis Prize for PhD-Thesis awarded by the Austrian Cancer Association in 2009,  and the C.E. Alken Prize 2007.
