Fabrizio Michetti has been a Contract Professor for Neuroanatomy, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Medical School, Rome and also a Contract Professor for Neuroanatomy, Università Vita Salute San Raffaele Medical School, Milan. He has been appointed to hold a course on Neuroanatomy, Master’s Program in Bioengineering, Université Paris Descartes since 2011. He received an MD Degree from Università Cattolica S. Cuore, Rome in 1970. He became a Neurologist at Università Cattolica S. Cuore, Rome in 1974, and a Psychiatrist at Università Cattolica S. Cuore, Rome in 1977. He is Chairman of the Committee for Scientific Evaluation (Anatomy) of the Italian Ministry for University and a member of the Council of the European Society for Neurochemistry. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy, Neurochemical Research. His main scientific interests focus on neuroscience, with special reference to the evaluation of biomarkers in brain injury and neurodegenerative, neuroprotective, and neuroreparative processes. In particular, he proved for the first time the presence of the S100B protein in the CSF of patients with neurological injuries, leading to the diagnostic application of CNS biomarkers identification in bodily fluids.
