Angelo Accardo, PhD (2012, University Magna Græcia of Catanzaro, Italy), is Senior Associate Professor in the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. He is co-founder of the Delft Young Academy, Treasurer and Board Member of the International Micro and Nano Engineering Society (iMNEs). By exploiting high-resolution, light-based 3D additive manufacturing techniques, he creates engineered polymeric/hydrogel microenvironments for fundamental mechanobiology, in vitro disease and treatment modeling, and tissue engineering applications involving brain, cancer, endothelial/perivascular, and bone cells. He is author of 70+ publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Photonics, Advanced Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, and Advanced Healthcare Materials, and he was awarded several prizes and grants by the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
