Dalius Jatužis is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, a full-time Professor of Neurology, and Head of the Clinic of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Vilnius University, Lithuania. He is a President of the Lithuanian Stroke Association and the Lithuanian Association of Neurologists. He received his medical degree, neurology training, and PhD degree at Vilnius University in Lithuania. His postgraduate training includes fellowships in neurology and clinical physiology in Lithuania, Sweden, and the USA. He is a national coordinator of educational activities of the World Federation of Neurology in Lithuania, a Fellow of the European Stroke Organisation, and a representative of Lithuania at the European Academy of Neurology. He serves as executive editor of the Lithuanian medical journal “Neurologijos seminarai” (Seminars in Neurology), a member of the Editorial Board of the European Stroke Journal, and a reviewer of numerous international high-ranked journals. His current research interests involve cerebrovascular disease, stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment, cerebrovascular ultrasound, and headache. His practical clinical activity is closely related to the implementation of contemporary principles of acute stroke management and prevention, regular updates of national stroke guidelines, reorganization of the national stroke care network, and breakthrough of modern reperfusion stroke therapies in Lithuania.
