Damiano Baldassarre, Sci Biol, PhD, is associate professor at the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Translational Medicine of Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy. He is also the head of the Unit for the Study of Arterial Morphology and Function of the Centro Cardiologico Monzino, Italy. He has expertise in the field of ultrasound non-invasive diagnostic techniques aimed at the evaluation of the arterial characteristics from a morphological and functional point of view. His science research interests include pathophysiology of atherosclerotic disease; peripheral circulation; arterial mechanics; vascular ultrasound; vascular aspects of metabolic disease and vascular pharmacology. He is or has been the scientific coordinator of multicenter studies (e.g., the IMPROVE STUDY). He is author of more than 260 publications, 140 of them on peer review international journals.
