Prof. Federico Pea is a Full Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, Italy, and he is a Director of the Clinical Pharmacology Unit—Department of Organ Impairment and Transplantation, IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna. His major research interests are the clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antimicrobials and the application of therapeutic drug monitoring to optimize and personalize therapy in special patient populations, such as critically ill patients, hematological patients, and elderly patients. He is a Fellow of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy and a member of the Committee of the Clinical Pharmacology Section of the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF). He is Specialty Chief Editor for Pharmacology of Frontiers in Antibiotics, Section Editor of the Journal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance and member of the International Editorial Board of Clinical of Clinical Pharmacokinetics, the International Editorial Board of Antibiotics, and the International Editorial Board of Pharmaceutics.
