Biography

I am specialized in plant physiology and mineral nutrition, with a focus on photosynthesis and mineral homeostasis. I obtained my degree in Biology and my Master’s in Molecular Genetics at the University of Seville (2017–2018). During this period, I worked at the Department of Plant Biology and Ecology. I analyzed how hybridization affects functional traits related to photosynthesis, carbon metabolism, and stress tolerance under salinity and flooding, strengthening my expertise in plant ecophysiology under climate-related stress. In 2019, I joined IRNAS-CSIC as a predoctoral researcher and completed my PhD (2025) in Integrated Biology within the CLORHOME and AgriChlor projects. My research characterized chloride homeostasis and its interaction with nitrate nutrition and photosynthesis, revealing new roles of chloride as a beneficial macronutrient in nitrogen use efficiency, early vegetative demand, photoprotection, and growth. I did research stays at EEZ-CSIC, UIB, and IBVF-CSIC that strengthened my expertise in chlorophyll fluorescence, photosynthesis and molecular biology. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at IRNAS-CSIC, focusing on crop performance and resource-use efficiency through mineral nutrition and ecophysiology.
