I received a degree in chemical sciences in 1985 and a doctorate in 1990, both from the University of Alicante, and also obtained the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize. Since 2001, I have supervised the research group GESEP in developing new electrode materials for electrochemical applications. During the last ten years, we have applied DSA electrodes and surface-modified textiles with reduced graphene oxide and Pt nanoparticles to the electrochemical treatment of real textile dyes and emerging pollutant solutions. We have also worked on the surface modification of carbon and metallic foams, exploring the possible biomedical applications, for which we have managed to modulate the rate of metallic foam corrosion using a surface modification with RGO.
