Marta Muñoz worked as a professor in the Department of Industrial Technology of the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio from 1995 to 2014. She is currently part of the Teaching and Research Staff in the area of Materials Science and Engineering at the Rey Juan Carlos University since 2014, and her research since 2018 has focused on the recycling of plastic waste. She has carried out three research stays at the Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa working on hydrocracking of high-density polyethylene. She has also collaborated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the project titled "PLASTIC WASTE TO ALTERNATIVE FUELS" since 2019, of which she is the principal researcher. She has supervised the work of two postdoctoral researchers awarded by the European Union with Marie Curie Cofund scholarships during the years 2020 and 2022. She is the principal researcher of a project of the 2021 ecological and digital transition call granted by the Ministry of Science and Innovation entitled: Recycling of plastic waste using radiofrequency fields and magnetic nanoparticles.
