Vijaya Raghavan is a well-respected professor at the Department of Bioresources Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, McGill University, Canada. He has supervised doctoral and postdoctoral candidates, with a sizeable number of them now professors in their choosen careers. His research interests include food security, postharvest processing, electro-technologies in food, and microbial fuel cells.
