Xiuxin Zhang, university professor, is Director of the China Horticultural Society, Peony Branch. Xiuxin Zhang graduated from Beijing Forest Agriculture University in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Ornamental Horticulture. Xiuxin Zhang has been working at the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, since 2004. Xiuxin Zhang is focused on the resource collection and innovative utilization of Paeonia plants, and also concentrates on peony-associated effective substance identification and functional production development. Xiuxin Zhang has cultivated more than 40 new varieties of peony and received five provincial or Ministerial Awards in the utilization and variety innovation of peony.
