In the economic growth models, technological progress is either exogenous or endogenous. The endogenized theory is based on analytical modeling of the economic process in order to include the event of innovating. Theory around the subject innovation and economic growth also includes several independent parameters that have a strong impact over innovation. However, few of them established creativity as an independent parameter of innovation. The present paper aims to extend the endogenized theory in order to include creativity as an independent parameter of innovation, based on the evidence of a panel data of 28 countries, through 8 years. A theoretical model, a multiple linear regression, an ANOVA analysis and correlational matrixes were used in order to fulfill our purpose. Results show that innovation is determined by the level of knowledge twice as much as the level of creativity. A conceptual framework for an extension of endogenous growth models, in order to include creativity, is presented in the paper. The model can enhance economic growth by fostering creativity or knowledge and thus, the size of innovation, which is the main driver for economic growth in the model presented.

In the paper, authors aim to determine the extent to which open source applications can replace specialized security applications for mobile applications. In this respect, open source components are selected at which level the implemented security features are identified, based on which a completeness-determining indicator is calculated. The value of this indicator is then compared to the value obtained for the .NET CF3 framework, with a hierarchy of the components being treated according to this indicator. Based on the same selected components or components derived from them, to which other components have been added, the issue of ensuring their quality is dealt with by calculating the complexity of each.

This paper investigates the effects of social media on entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. Combining the internal and external approaches of opportunity recognition, the study analyzes how social media influences the entrepreneurs in discovering new entrepreneurial opportunities. Structural equation modeling was used in this study, using the variance-based partial least squares (PLS)–structural equation modeling (SEM), on a sample of 354 entrepreneurs. We concluded that social media directly and positively influences entrepreneurial opportunity recognition while entrepreneurial alertness (internal approach) and social networks (external approach) partially mediates its indirect effects on entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. The study contributes to the existing literature by bringing new insights into the entrepreneurial opportunity recognition process by focusing on a poorly represented factor in the literature, social media.

This paper presents how to use the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) in software engineering modeling processes. Any variation of CMMI, depending on the scope of application, can also be used to assess the process maturity of an organization. Regarding the Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) process, the activities in the SRE process have been briefly described, noting that the application of SRE in all software-based products leads to good control over the development process.

Urban development in recent decades has had a significant impact on climate change. Cities have implemented traffic monitoring systems to sustain the new building code in meeting the target for environmental indicators. Timisoara is the second city in Romania and manages over 60% of the development and pollution of Timis County. The analysis of large volumes of data provided by local sensors and databases requires big data analytics. In this research, for the first time, we simultaneously developed two parallel scenario-based decision-making support models to assess a CO2 sequestration index. The model is based on a tree inventory for traffic area and car flow using Roegenian processes with borders. The first scenario (dt1) analyzes the real O2-pollution car flows for process streets as receivers of pollution. The second scenario (dt2) analyzes O2-pollution flows for the same streets from the perspective of streets that garage the cars. We modeled the parallel integration of actual O2 production and pollution flows for 160 main streets that account for over 50% of the urban mileage of Timisoara city. The carbon sequestration indexes of the streets are in the range of 0.0000043–0.437 (dt1) and 0.0000092–11.78 (dt2). The results can be used to support local decision making regarding the environment CO2-O2 balances by optimizing the local fiscal policies. The research could be extended to secondary streets and separately for the pollution of heating-cooling devices for residential building areas.

Internet research on search engine quality and validity of results demand much concern. Thus, the focus in our study has been to measure the impact of quotation marks usage on the internet search outputs in terms of Google search outcomes’ distributions, through Benford Law. The current paper is focused on applying a Benford Law analysis on two related types of internet searches distinguished by the usage or absence of quotation marks. Both search results values are assumed as variables. We found that the first digit of outcomes does not follow the Benford Law first digit of numbers in the case of searching text without quotation marks. Unexpectedly, the Benford Law is obeyed when quotation marks are used, even if the variability of search outcomes is considerably reduced. By studying outputs demonstrating influences of (apparently at first) “details”, in using a search engine, the authors are able to further warn the users concerning the validity of such outputs.

Basically, ERP implies a policy that reflects what it means to think and act for the purpose of economic processes and is therefore considered a strategic management solution. The new business model with process-focused operations increases productivity and meets the economic performance standards. The economic operational stages must be integrated in order to trigger workflows, to control the flow of information, and to create connections between the organization, suppliers, and customers. All this requires organizational changes, technological updates, and, eventually, a new identity for the organization itself. The present paper proposes a specific approach to the procedures needed to perform the audit of integrated informatics systems of the SMEs. Concrete methods of undertaking audit operations for the financial accounting modules of integrated informatics systems of the SMEs are presented in the present work.

In this paper there are presented the main modules of some applications that represent the future of IT for start-up businesses, depending on what is essential, compulsory and important for this type of businesses. IT applications modules, described in the following paper, definitely belong to the IT department of any new business. The basic applications that any company obligatory needs are: office software, financial-accounting applications, online banking and so on. Only in exceptional cases, the giving up of certain modules, which are specific to “must have” applications, should be taken into account, such as certain marketing activities on the internet. In this paper the word, “start-up” does not refer to “start-ups” in IT. This paper is about those people who want to start a business, those who are at the beginning and have nothing to do with the IT sphere.

The reliability of the software represents one of the most important attributes of software quality, and the estimation of the reliability of the software is a problem hard to solve with accuracy. Nevertheless, in order to manage the quality of the software and of the standard practices in an organization, it is important to achieve an estimation of the reliability as accurate as possible. In the present work there are described the principles and techniques which underlie the estimation of the reliability of the software, starting from the definition of the concepts which express the attributes of software quality. It is taken into account the issue of the estimation of a software part. The presumed objective of the estimation of the reliability consists in the analysis of the risk and of the reliability of the software-based systems. Supposedly, a documented opinion of the expert exists regarding the reliability of the software and an update of the defined estimation of the reliability is tried with the information contained in the records of the operational data.

In this paper we will continue our researches regarding e-Business and e-Government modeling on Social Media presented in (Stoica, Pitic, & Mihaescu, 2013). Among message and user parameters we add a new parameter used to describe the geographical dispersion of Twitter messages. This new parameter will characterize the way one set of messages will spread in Social Graph from the physical word point of view. The first model, presented as “A Novel Model for E-Business and E-Government Processes on Social”, will be extended with the geographical parameter PG. We will define and we will describe the Markov Model used to organize the messages gathered from social media. The main idea of building the Markov Model is to assign a geographical location to each user who send a message and every re-broadcast will define a transition.
