Gaël Roué is leads the translational lymphoma research group at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Badalona, Spain. He obtained his PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Caen (2002, France) and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Pasteur Institute (Paris, France) and a junior researcher at the Department of Hematooncology, IDIBAPS research center in Barcelona. In 2004 he moved to the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (Spain) to transfer into the clinics new therapies for B lymphoid neoplasms, mainly mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In 2017, he joined the Molecular Genetics Unit of the Hematology Department, Vall d'Hebron University Hospital as a senior researcher to develop preclinical models of aggressive B-cell lymphoma. His current research interests are oriented toward the study of oncogenic signaling, the B-cell receptor pathway and the role of intrinsic protein homeostasis in the control of the interaction between malignant B cells and the lymphoid tumour microenvironment.
