I have broad research interests in the areas of infectious diseases, microbiology, immunology, inflammation, host-directed immunotherapy, and tuberculosis drugs. I am currently investigating the role of memory B cells in TB using a cutting-edge single-cell flow cytometry approach with the main aim to isolate antibodies and develop an mRNA-based vaccine for TB. I use ex-vivo co-culture (macrophages and T-cells) and small animal models to determine the cellular and molecular mechanisms of TB pathogenesis. Another area of my research interest is phosphoproteomics of lung cells with intracellular mycobacteria to understand modulation in the host niche during TB disease progression.
