Biography

Peter Q. Tranchida currently occupies a position as an associate professor in Food Chemistry at the University of Messina. His research activities are focused mainly on the study of complex food samples by using advanced chromatography processes, in particular, classical multidimensional and comprehensive two-dimensional chromatography systems. Specifically, he has performed a great deal of research work in the field of heart-cutting multidimensional gas chromatography and liquid–gas chromatography, as well as comprehensive 2D gas chromatography. In terms of mass spectrometry systems, he currently uses rapid-scanning single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, and low- and high-resolution time-of-flight devices. In 2012, he was awarded the "John Phillips Award". In 2019, he was awarded the “GC×GC Lifetime Achievement Award”. Prof. Tranchida is currently an associate editor of Journal of Separation Science and Contributing Editor of Trends in Analytical Chemistry. He has co-authored nearly 150 scientific publications and given over 300 oral/poster presentations at national and international meetings.
