Dr. Jian-Wei Shao is a distinguished Young Researcher at the Foshan University, Foshan, China. From September 2015 to March 2020, he majored in Pathogenic Biology, at Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and received his Ph.D. degree in medicine; from 2016 to 2019, he was the State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and jointly trained doctoral students; from September 2020 to present, he is a teacher at the School of Life Sciences and Engineering, Foshan University of Science and Technology. He mainly engaged in the use of high-throughput sequencing technology for the discovery of new viruses, epidemiology, and pathogenic ecology of zoonotic pathogenic microorganisms. He has participated in national key research and development programs, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperation projects, and general 6 projects, etc.
