Jürgen Liebscher, Prof. emeritus, Senior researcher. He received his PhD at Technical University Dresden, Germany in 1973 and his Dr. habil. in organic chemistry at the same place in 1977. He acted as Associate Professor at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, from 1979 till 1981. He was appointed Associate Professor of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry at Humboldt-University Berlin, Germany in 1981 and Full Professor in 1991. Since 2011, after his retirement, he works as a senior researcher at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is the author of 288 publications, several book chapters and about 170 Patents. His research interests are in heterocyclic chemistry, organic synthesis, analogues of natural products, nucleolipids, ionic liquids, organocatalysis, transition metal catalysis, and magnetic nanoparticles. At present, he is involved in polydopamine and its analogues.
