Prof. Dr. Edoardo Giovanni Giannini works as a full professor in the Gastroenterology Unit of the Department of Internal Medicine, IRCCS–Ospedale Policlinico San Martino at the University of Genoa (Genoa, Italy). He is a visiting professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. He received an MD from Università degli Studi di Genova in 1995 and earned a Ph.D. in clinical and experimental gastroenterology in 2004. He is the Guest Editor of the Special Issue "Gastrointestinal Tract Cancers, an Increasing Burden of the Modern Era: Epidemiology and Prevention" on MDPI. His research interests mainly focus on hepatocellular carcinoma; liver disease; portal hypertension; platelets; and liver function. His scientific output includes 350 publications, corresponding to 11,226 citations (h-index 54) (Scopus, 2 January 2024).
