Tibor Fülöp, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Medicine with tenure at the Medical University of South Carolina and the Nephrology Section Chief of the university-affiliated Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. He is a "summa cum laude" graduate of the Semmelweis University of Budapest, Hungary (M.D. 1990), and earned a subsequent Ph.D. degree in 2018. He obtained his postgraduate medical training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, and the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. His clinical interests include Intensive Care nephrology, home-based renal replacement therapies, kidney stone prevention, and renal vasculitis. He has published over 100 scientific papers on a wide range of topics and served on the Editorial Boards of several journals. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Southern Society of Clinical Investigations.
