Patients with breast cancer are prone to serious health-related complications with higher mortality. The primary reason might be a misinterpretation of radiologists in recognizing suspicious lesions due to technical issues in imaging qualities and heterogeneous breast densities which increases the false- (positive and negative) ratio. Early intervention is significant in establishing an up-to-date prognosis process which can successfully mitigate complications of disease with higher recovery. The manual screening of breast abnormalities through traditional machine learning schemes misinterpret the inconsistent featureextraction process which poses a problem, i.e., patients being called-back for biopsies to eliminates the suspicions. However, several deep learning-based methods have been developed for reliable breast cancer prognosis and classification but very few of them provided a comprehensive overview of lesions segmentation. This research focusses on providing benefits and risks of breast multi-imaging modalities, segmentation schemes, feature extraction, classification of breast abnormalities through state-of-the-art deep learning approaches. This research also explores various well-known databases using "Breast Cancer" keyword to present a comprehensive survey on existing diagnostic schemes to open-up new research challenges for radiologists and researchers to intervene as early as possible to develop an efficient and reliable breast cancer prognosis system using prominent deep learning schemes.

According to the most recent estimates from global cancer statistics for 2020, liver cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women. Segmenting the liver is difficult, and segmenting the tumor from the liver adds some difficulty. After a sample of liver tissue is taken, imaging tests, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), and ultrasound (US), are used to segment the liver and liver tumor. Due to overlapping intensity and variability in the position and shape of soft tissues, segmentation of the liver and tumor from computed abdominal tomography images based on shade gray or shapes is undesirable. This study proposed a more efficient method for segmenting liver and tumors from CT image volumes using a hybrid ResUNet model, combining the ResNet and UNet models to address this gap. The two overlapping models were primarily used in this study to segment the liver and for region of interest (ROI) assessment. Segmentation of the liver is done to examine the liver with an abdominal CT image volume. The proposed model is based on CT volume slices of patients with liver tumors and evaluated on the public 3D dataset IRCADB01. Based on the experimental analysis, the true value accuracy for liver segmentation was found to be approximately 99.55%, 97.85%, and 98.16%. The authentication rate of the dice coefficient also increased, indicating that the experiment went well and that the model is ready to use for the detection of liver tumors.

Cancer is a deadly disease that arises due to the growth of uncontrollable body cells. Every year, a large number of people succumb to cancer and it’s been labeled as the most serious public health snag. Cancer can develop in any part of the human anatomy, which may consist of trillions of cellules. One of the most frequent type of cancer is skin cancer which develops in the upper layer of the skin. Previously, machine learning techniques have been used for skin cancer detection using protein sequences and different kinds of imaging modalities. The drawback of the machine learning approaches is that they require human-engineered features, which is a very laborious and time-taking activity. Deep learning addressed this issue to some extent by providing the facility of automatic feature extraction. In this study, convolution-based deep neural networks have been used for skin cancer detection using ISIC public dataset. Cancer detection is a sensitive issue, which is prone to errors if not timely and accurately detected. The performance of the individual machine learning models to detect cancer is limited. The combined decision of individual learners is expected to be more accurate than the individual learners. The ensemble learning technique exploits the diversity of learners to yield a better decision. Thus, the prediction accuracy can be enhanced by combing the decision of individual learners for sensitive issues such as cancer detection. In this paper, an ensemble of deep learners has been developed using learners of VGG, CapsNet, and ResNet for skin cancer detection. The results show that the combined decision of deep learners is superior to the finding of individual learners in terms of sensitivity, accuracy, specificity, F-score, and precision. The experimental results of this study provide a compelling reason to be applied for other disease detection.

Machine and deep learning algorithms are rapidly growing in dynamic research of medical imaging. Currently, substantial efforts are developed for the enrichment of medical imaging applications using these algorithms to diagnose the errors in disease diagnostic systems which may result in extremely ambiguous medical treatments. Machine and deep learning algorithms are important ways in medical imaging to predict the symptoms of early disease. Deep learning techniques, in specific convolutional networks, have promptly developed a methodology of special for investigating medical images. It uses the supervised or unsupervised algorithms using some specific standard dataset to indicate the predictions. We survey image classification, object detection, pattern recognition, reasoning etc. concepts in medical imaging. These are used to improve the accuracy by extracting the meaningful patterns for the specific disease in medical imaging. These ways also indorse the decision-making procedure. The major aim of this survey is to highlight the machine learning and deep learning techniques used in medical images. We intended to provide an outline for researchers to know the existing techniques carried out for medical imaging, highlight the advantages and drawbacks of these algorithms, and to discuss the future directions. For the study of multi-dimensional medical data, machine and deep learning provide a commendable technique for creation of classification and automatic decision making. This paper provides a survey of medical imaging in the machine and deep learning methods to analyze distinctive diseases. It carries consideration concerning the suite of these algorithms which can be used for the investigation of diseases and automatic decision-making.

Many intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) have been introduced to identify suspicious activities. However, since attackers are exploiting new vulnerabilities in systems and are employing more sophisticated advanced cyber-attacks, these zero-day attacks remain hidden from IDPS in most cases. These features have incentivized many researchers to propose different artificial intelligence-based techniques to prevent, detect, and respond to such advanced attacks. This has also created a new requirement for a comprehensive comparison of the existing schemes in several aspects ; after a thorough study we found that there currently exists no detailed comparative analysis of artificial intelligence-based techniques published in the last five years. Therefore, there is a need for this kind of work to be published, as there are many comparative analyses in other fields of cyber security that are available for readers to review. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the latest and most recent literature, which introduces well-known machine learning and deep learning algorithms and the challenges they face in detecting zero-day attacks. Following these qualitative analyses, we present the comparative evaluation results regarding the highest accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score compared to different datasets.

Heart disease is one of the key contributors to human death. Each year, several people die due to this disease. According to the WHO, 17.9 million people die each year due to heart disease. With the various technologies and techniques developed for heart-disease detection, the use of image classification can further improve the results. Image classification is a significant matter of concern in modern times. It is one of the most basic jobs in pattern identification and computer vision, and refers to assigning one or more labels to images. Pattern identification from images has become easier by using machine learning, and deep learning has rendered it more precise than traditional image classification methods. This study aims to use a deep-learning approach using image classification for heart-disease detection. A deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) is currently the most popular classification technique for image recognition. The proposed model is evaluated on the public UCI heart-disease dataset comprising 1050 patients and 14 attributes. By gathering a set of directly obtainable features from the heart-disease dataset, we considered this feature vector to be input for a DCNN to discriminate whether an instance belongs to a healthy or cardiac disease class. To assess the performance of the proposed method, different performance metrics, namely, accuracy, precision, recall, and the F1 measure, were employed, and our model achieved validation accuracy of 91.7%. The experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in a real-world environment.
